Melanie is an electronic musician, teacher, flautist, and writer based in Melbourne, Australia. Melanie’s audio works have been played and installed in Australia, the United States, and Europe. She has many years experience as a creative practitioner and educator.

Melanie’s research frames issues of diverse embodiment and mind at the intersection of language and digital music. In her recently completed PhD thesis, she argues that epilepsy is a minded as well as a bodily phenomenon that can be understood through the bridging of music analysis, the fantastic, figure and myth. Investigating epilepsy calls for a multi-modal approach that makes sense of its histories of sexism and violence as well as the differently experienced chronicities of the present.
